Season 0: Into the Veilwood is the first limited playtest season of Dice or Die.
It is designed for testers and early participants, not as a full public launch, but as a focused phase to validate the game's new competitive structure, deeper progression systems, and seasonal reward loop before wider release.

Introduction
Season Duration: 1 week (March 25 - April 1)
Season 0 marks the first step into the new seasonal structure of Dice or Die.
It is the beginning of a more organized competitive format, where players enter a defined phase, push through repeated descents, test progression over time, and begin earning seasonal marks tied to both participation and performance.
This first season is intentionally limited in scope. Its role is to establish the tone, rhythm, and expectations of future seasons while letting the team validate the systems behind them.
Lore: Into the Veilwood
The first path opens through The Veilwood, a dark and corrupted forest standing at the threshold of deeper horrors.

The Veilwood is not a peaceful woodland, but an ancient place twisted by the same forces that wounded the world. Mist hangs low between blackened trunks, roots crawl over broken ground, and something old watches from deeper within.
For Season 0, the Veilwood represents the first meaningful step into this new cycle of descent. It is the opening threshold, the place where early participants test themselves before the path descends further into the unknown.
New Hero: Blood Witch
Season 0 introduces Blood Witch, a new seasonal hero.

Blood Witch arrives with her own die, a unique pool of abilities, and a playstyle built around turning pain into power. Rather than relying on mana, she fights through sacrifice: wounding herself, draining life, and converting danger into burst damage, sustain, and ritual control.
She is meant to be one of the defining figures of Season 0, both as a playable hero and as a reflection of the season’s identity: occult, unstable, and powerful only for those willing to walk close to collapse.

Purpose of Season 0
Season 0 exists to test the foundations of the new seasonal structure in real conditions:
