Season 2: Preparation
Toward The Obsidian Loom
Season 2 begins with the discovery of The Obsidian Loom, a new Abyssal region in the world of Dice or Die.
The Preparation phase is about recognizing that this is not a wilderness to survive, but a system to trespass.
A Ruin That Still Defends Itself
Inside the Loom, nothing happens by accident. The guardians don't just roam; they defend the ruins as part of a single, calculated mechanism. You aren't stumbling into a wild abyss. You're trespassing in a fortress that hasn't stopped working since the day it was sealed.
To survive, you have to stop thinking about killing monsters and start thinking about how to break a system.
Preparation Reward
Preparation for Season 2 introduces Rigged Present as the featured reward item for this stage.

Rigged Present is a special consumable that plants an armed package onto an enemy die. When that face is rolled, the gift opens the wrong way.
The reward can be claimed twice during the preparation window:
| Cost | Reward |
|---|---|
| 500 Tribute Points | Rigged Present |
| 2000 Tribute Points | Rigged Present |
Like Essence of Ember during the Road to Veilwood, this reward gives the preparation phase its own gameplay identity before the main season fully opens.
What Is Being Discovered
Narratively, the Preparation phase introduces the first known traces of the Sigil Veils.
Deep inside the Obsidian Loom, Seekers begin to uncover that the ruins were not only protecting treasure, but fragments of an older system of seals, authority, and inheritance.
What Comes Next
The Main Season moves from anticipation into full descent.
That is where players will enter the Loom itself, face its guardian logic directly, and confront a combat environment built around formation puzzles, interdependent defenses, and carefully timed collapse.
